Man United boss Erik ten Hag has dealt a crushing blow to David Moyes by jumping the queue for red hot January bargain striker Marcus Thuram.
West Ham have been linked with France forward Marcus Thuram in every transfer window since Moyes’ return to London Stadium in 2020.
Now, just when West Ham need him most and stand a chance of landing him for an absolute steal, Manchester United threaten to scupper their old manager’s hopes.

Thuram was always set to be one of the most sought after players in the January window with the player out of contract at Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer and refusing to sign a new deal.
Moyes has been linked with a move for Thuram for some time as previously reported by the likes of ExWHUemployee and just last month on FootballFanCast.
Goodness knows the Hammers need him. A dismal 13 goals all season tells its own story for West Ham despite the arrivals of Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta.
But Man United have other ideas it seems.
The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo means the Red Devils are also in the market for a forward in January – a fact confirmed by Man United’s manager in recent press conferences.

Now Man United boss Ten Hag has dealt a crushing blow to Moyes by jumping the queue for red hot bargain striker Thuram.
As reported by Bild, Thuram can leave Borussia Mönchengladbach in the winter window for as little as €12m (£10m).
Thuram has 13 goals in 17 games for Gladbach in the Bundesliga this season. His stunning form earned him a call up to the French national team for the World Cup where he has made himself key for France off the bench.
West Ham face a losing battle, though, after it emerged Man United are now at the head of the queue to sign Thuram in January.

Bild and MEN are reporting that Man United are now leading the race to secure the French international’s signature.
Competing with Man United will always be tough for the likes of West Ham.
Moyes may yet have a couple of aces up his sleeve, though. The guarantee of being a starter in his West Ham side as well as the lure of living in London.
It seems Thuram will definitely be on the move this month as German clubs are no fools when it comes to ensuring they run their clubs prudently and Gladbach will want to get some money in for their forward.
West Ham must make sure they are at least in the mix when these opportunities arise, even if Moyes’ interest may now be futile in light of Man United’s apparent push to get a deal done.
