Liverpool signing Jude Bellingham could leave the door wide open for West Ham to bring Naby Keita to the London Stadium.

Sport Bild claim that Liverpool are one of four clubs in the race to sign the 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund ace this summer, alongside Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

And the German publication suggests that Liverpool have €100 million (£85 million) set aside to sign Bellingham in the summer of 2023.

If Jurgen Klopp does bring the Dortmund ace to Anfield next year, it will be great news for West Ham and our hopes of signing Naby Keita.

Hammers boss David Moyes is allegedly keen to bring the 27-year-old Liverpool midfielder to the London Stadium on a free transfer next summer.

Klopp could tie down Keita to a new contract of course. However with a mega-move for Bellingham in the pipeline, getting Keita’s £130k-a-week salary (Salary Sport) off the books at Anfield would be a wise move for the Reds.

If Klopp really does have genuine intentions of bringing Bellingham to Anfield, there will be no need for Keita anymore.

And West Ham may well have a great chance to snap up the 50-capped Guinea international.

Moyes should be going all out to bring him to the London Stadium.

Liverpool agreed a £48 million deal to sign the 27-year-old from RB Leipzig in 2017 (BBC).

He has struggled to make a huge impact at Anfield though, bagging just 11 goals and seven assists in 117 games (Transfermarkt).

His time with the Reds has been marred by injury as well. The thing is, he is an incredibly exciting talent and on his day, there aren’t many better.

Keita is a box-to-box midfielder who has energy, dynamism, pace and power in abundance. If he can sort out his fitness issues, he would be a tremendous addition for West Ham.

The Guinean ace would be a real bargain for absolutely nothing! And he would be a huge upgrade on Tomas Soucek in the middle of the park.

The thing is, bringing him in on a free transfer would eliminate the risk associated with signing him. Even if he does struggle with injuries, at least we wouldn’t have splashed out a transfer fee to sign him.
