Kieran Tierney was left out of the Arsenal squad today, amidst strong links with West Ham United.

Arsenal played host to Nottingham Forest in their Premier League opener, and West Ham target Kieran Tierney was not even named on the bench.

The East London outfit have been heavily linked with a move to sign the 26-year-old Gunners left-back this summer.

The remaining few weeks of the summer transfer window will be vitally important for Hammers boss David Moyes.

Signing a left-back should be one of his biggest priorities, and maybe Tierney will be the man to come into the London Stadium this summer…

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly prepared to sell the 26-year-old Gunners defender for around £30 million (The Sun).

And his omission from the Arsenal squad this afternoon is surely a big hint that he’s on his way out of the club.

As long as Tierney maintains his fitness and avoids injuries, I think he’d be a superb addition for West Ham.

The 26-year-old ex-Celtic ace possesses blistering pace, is very strong in the tackle and is hard to get past. He is also very attacking and would be perfect for the wing-back role at the London Stadium.

He has been described as a ‘stunning’ defender by The Express, and on his day he definitely is a very good player indeed.

If Moyes is planning to play with three centre-backs and wing-backs this season, Kieran Tierney would be ideal for West Ham.

I think that the fact he was completely omitted by Arteta today might just mean that he could be on his way out of North London. Whether or not East London is his final destination remains to be seen though.
