Jesse Lingard joining West Ham United on a free transfer this summer is very much on the cards according to the latest reports.
That’s according to a report from The Mirror (print edition June 2nd page 57) who claim that the Hammers have been ‘tipped’ to sign Jesse.

West Ham allegedly could face competition from the likes of Newcastle United and Roma for the 29-year-old’s signature, however.
Lingard spent an incredibly successful four months on loan with the Hammers during the second half of the 2020/21 season.

David Moyes absolutely loves the attacking midfielder and recently described him as an ‘incredible’ player (Claret and Hugh). Mark Noble was impressed too, and labelled Lingard as ‘phenomenal’ (Daily Mail).
It would be no surprise to see the 33-capped England international return to the London Stadium at some point.
This really has been dragging on though hasn’t it!
It seems as though the Hammers are still one of the front-runners for Jesse’s signature though…
Jesse Lingard joining West Ham still very much on
The Mirror (print edition June 2nd page 57) are tipping the Hammers to sign the free agent.
The 29-year-old has officially been released by Manchester United as a new chapter in his career awaits him.

We believe that bringing the England International back is a no-brainer for the Hammers, as long as we don’t spend all summer chasing him.
Let’s get a deal done for him quickly and efficiently.
The 29-year-old currently earns around £130k-a-week (The Daily Star). That’s an awful lot of money and Jesse will undoubtedly be demanding a similar wage for what will be the final big contract of his career. There have even been claims that he will be ask for a salary worth up to £180k-a-week.
Whilst we don’t expect the Hammers to pay Jesse anywhere near that amount, he proved last season just how effective he can be for us in our counter-attacking setup. So it will be worth offering him a very decent package indeed.
And Jesse Lingard joining West Ham this summer would put us in a strong position ahead of the 2022/23 season.
