The 28-year-old, who allegedly owns a flat in the same apartment block as David Moyes, was pencilled in for a face-to-face meeting with the Hammers boss last night.

And if all goes well, the Manchester United ace could join us on a season-long loan, whilst signing a new deal at Old Trafford.

Lingard spent an incredibly successful four months at the London Stadium last season. He bagged nine goals and four assists in 16 games whilst on loan with the Hammers.

Jesse Lingard to come back to West Ham?

C&H reckon that is a genuine possibility, despite the impending arrival of Nikola Vlasic.

Moyes was set to meet the 28-year-old last night.

If the Hammers do sign Jesse on loan before tomorrow’s deadline, and Manchester United extend his current deal, the east Londoners must ensure that an option to buy is included in the deal this time.

Lingard would be an exceptional addition for West Ham.

David Moyes would then have genuine competition for places in the final third again.

Sure, we still need a striker. Jesse coming in along with Vlasic, however, provides Moyes with so many different options.

And considering the owners’ recent flurry of signings, perhaps they will spring another surprise with the arrival of a striker on deadline day?

Either way, if Jesse comes back and we get a deal for Vlasic done, we think we’ll be in great shape to push for another top six finish.
