West Ham United are seemingly plotting a move to sign a top-class player from Chelsea in January.
Julen Lopetegui needs to make one or to big signings for West Ham in the January transfer window.

Whilst Lopetegui is still under real pressure, with Graham Potter allegedly being lined up to replace him, a couple of wins between now and the end of the year would significantly flip the narrative.
With games against Brighton, Southampton and Liverpool to come, that definitely won’t be easy.
However, there have been some small improvements over recents weeks, that’s undeniable.

And if Lopetegui is still in charge at the London Stadium when the January window opens, I expect him to make some big moves in the market.
One of the names on the Hammers’ reported wish-list really is incredibly exciting…
Move for Chelsea star would be a big statement from West Ham
The Hammers are seemingly looking to sign a hugely talented Chelsea star when the winter window opens.
And I really think it would send out a big message of intent, if West Ham are actually able to get a deal over the line.
According to Give Me Sport, the Hammers are trying to sign Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea in January.
Chelsea are said to be demanding around £40 million for the England under-20 international.
What a huge statement this would be from the club.
It was claimed on deadline day in the summer that West Ham were trying to bring Carney Chukwuemeka to the London Stadium on loan.
The 21-year-old remained at Stamford Bridge in the end though, and he’s probably regretting that decision right about now.
Chukwuemeka has been described as an ‘unbelievable’ player by Marcus Bettinelli (Chelsea’s YouTube channel).

The Chelsea star is a central midfielder by trade, although he can operate in more attacking roles as well, and he’s a hugely talented young player.
He is incredibly energetic, has real pace and power and would add some real impetus to our play going forward.
The former Aston Villa man would add so much dynamism to the Hammers’ engine room, and he has the potential to go on and become truly world-class.
Carney Chukwuemeka has played only 130 minutes of football in all competitions so far this season, so a move to West Ham is desperately needed for him.
However, £40 million sounds like an awful lot of money for the Hammers to splash out on a relatively unproven Premier League player.
Perhaps a loan move for Chukwuemeka with an option for West Ham to buy him in the summer would be the ideal outcome for all parties concerned.
