David Moyes has given up on bringing a permanent striker signing to West Ham United this month.
West Ham backed for Champions League as shock jock questions big team bias
That’s according to West Ham insiders Claret & Hugh.
West Ham have just one senior striker in the shape of injury-prone converted winger Michail Antonio.
Hammers fans were angry if not at all surprised after the club sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax for £20million without having a replacement lined up.

Hammers linked with all and sundry
West Ham have been linked with a plethora of strikers since.
West Ham have seen bids knocked back for the likes of Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri (The Athletic) and Boulaye Dia (Telefoot Chaine and Get French Football News).
Speaking on BT Sport after West Ham’s 2-1 victory over West Brom on Tuesday night, Moyes confirmed he was not close to making any signings.
Now Claret & Hugh claims the Scot has given up trying to bring in a permanent striker signing. And he will instead look at the foreign loan market.

Insiders claim Moyes has given up on permanent striker signing
“David Moyes seems unlikely to sign a striker to a permanent deal this winter after missing out on a couple of priority targets,” Claret & Hugh report.
“Moyes has openly admitted three bids for his quality targets have been made and failed. He is now likely to wait until summer for the player he really wants and look for a back-up loan signing over what remains of the window.
“He is looking to get a foreign loan striker as he bids to take pressure off Michail Antonio unless he gets lucky in the last days by getting the front man he REALLY wants.”

New report emerges from Spain over third En-Nesyri bid
Since the claim from Claret & Hugh, a new report has emerged from Spain stating West Ham have upped their bid for En-Nesyri to £35m (La Razon as also reported by Sport Witness).
Whether that has any substance or not time will tell.
If West Ham are going to do any business, the clock is ticking.
The transfer window closes in nine days at 11pm on Monday February 1.
