Arsenal allegedly could be set to challenge West Ham United for Marcus Thuram in the January transfer window.
That’s according to a report from MilanLive.it who claim that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants to bring the 25-year-old forward to the Emirates.
Thuram is now in the final year of his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach, so the Bundesliga outfit will surely be looking to sell him for a nominal fee in January, rather than lose him for nothing in the summer.

The Gladbach ace is the son of former France and Juventus legend Lilian Thuram.
He is very highly rated on the continent, and it seems as though he could now be tested in the Premier League…
West Ham face Arsenal competition for Thuram in the January transfer window
MilanLive.it claims that Arsenal are genuine contenders to sign the Gladbach star in January.
And in my opinion, that means that West Ham could be fighting a losing battle.
Thuram would take West Ham’s attacking to a whole new level entirely, but Arsenal’s reported interest in signing him will undoubtedly represent a h huge problem for us.
He really is an exceptional talent.
The 25-year-old has been described as a ‘sensational’ player by scouting, statistics and analytical website Total Football Analysis.

Thuram possesses blistering pace and can play anywhere along the front-line. He has bagged 12 goals and four assists in 16 games for Gladbach so far this season (Transfermarkt).
The four-capped France international is a really explosive striker, and is a constant menace for opposing defenders.
Thuram’s pace and exceptional movement would offer West Ham a completely different facet to our attacking play.
As mentioned earlier though, Arsenal are far better positioned than West Ham are to sign the exciting French forward in the January transfer window.
And that’s a real shame.
