Aston Villa have reportedly opened further talks to sign West Ham United transfer target Boubacar Kamara in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail who claim that Steven Gerrard is desperate to bring the 22-year-old midfielder to Villa Park in the summer transfer window.
West Ham boss David Moyes wants to bring the exceptional French ace to the London Stadium as well according to the likes of The Sun and Corriere dello Sport (print edition January 13th, page 19).
Kamara is a truly brilliant midfielder. His availability on a free transfer this summer means that he will be an unbelievable coup for whichever club wins the race for this signature.
Central midfield is definitely an area where the Hammers need to strengthen in the summer transfer window.
Unfortunately for us though, it seems as though Aston Villa are in exactly the same boat…
West Ham could miss out to Villa in summer transfer window move to sign Boubacar Kamara
The Daily Mail reckon that Villa boss Steven Gerrard has held further talks with the 22-year-old Frenchman ahead of a potential move to bring him to the West Midlands on a free transfer in the summer.
That really is a big blow for the Hammers.
Kamara is someone who would be the perfect signing for us win the summer especially considering just how weak we are in the central midfield department and his availability on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old is a special, special talent and he is one of the few players on the planet who could actually replace Declan Rice if the unthinkable does happen and he ends up leaving the London Stadium.
The hope is that Rice stays at West Ham and we sign Kamara though.
The Marseille defensive midfielder would undoubtedly take us to another level entirely. He is a quite brilliant young player and Milan Reports describe the Frenchman as a ‘sensational’ talent.
In 32 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille this season, Kamara has averaged 2.1 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per match. He’s made 69.9 passes on average per game and has recorded an incredibly successful completion rate of 90.9% (Who Scored).
The 22-year-old is energetic, dynamic and would add some much needed athleticism and bite to West Ham’s central midfield ranks.
Kamara is allegedly demanding £150k-a-week from his potential suitors (The Sun). Considering the fact that he’s available on a free transfer in the summer, West Ham should be more than comfortable paying him that kind of salary.
The Marseille ace is one of the very best at what he does in world football. He is very much a defence-minded central midfielder and would provide a really solid level of cover for our defenders.
The 22-year-old Frenchman would be an exceptional addition for the Hammers. It seems as though Villa could be a huge problem for us though.
And if Aston Villa do beat West Ham in the summer transfer window race to sign Boubacar Kamara it will very much be their gain and our loss.
