Club Brugge have made an £8.5 million bid for Fenerbahce ace Miha Zajc, who’s viewed as a replacement for West Ham linked Hans Vanaken.

That’s according to a report from Voetbal 24 who claim that should the Belgian side secure a deal for Zajc, they will then let Vanaken leave to join the Hammers.

West Ham boss David Moyes is very keen to bring Vanaken to the London Stadium according to the likes of Fabrizio Romano.

And the 30-year-old wants to join the Hammers as well.

It seems as though this is a transfer that will undoubtedly get done sooner rather than later…

Club Brugge make bid for Hans Vanaken replacement as West Ham rumours intensify

Voetbal 24 reckon that the Belgian outfit have made an £8.5 million bid for Fenerbahce ace Miha Zajc.

If Club Brugge sign the Slovenian, they will then allow Vanaken to move to the London Stadium, according to Voetbal 24.

During his time with Club Brugge, he’s bagged 102 goals and 73 assists in 344 games (Transfermarkt) – a tremendously impressive tally.

We’ve repeatedly insisted that the Belgian midfielder is far from our first choice. But let’s face it, he’ll be better than what Moyes currently has at his disposal.

The Belgian bagged 16 goals and seven assists in 45 games in the 2020/21 season and racked up 15 goals and 12 assists in 50 outings last term (Transfermarkt).

Standing at 6ft 5in tall, Vanaken is a real unit and has the kind of physicality needed to succeed in the Premier League.

There is one problem as far as we’re concerned though. The Club Brugge midfielder has just turned 30. That obviously doesn’t correlate with the Red Bull Model that David Moyes supposedly wants to implement at the London Stadium.

Moving to the Premier League from the Belgian league and succeeding is a tough ask for anybody. Let alone someone who is 30.

It will certainly be a tough challenge for the 30-year-old. 90 Min claim that Club Brugge want around €20 million (£17 million) for the Belgian. That seems way too steep in my opinion.

If West Ham could sign Hans Vanaken for around £10-12 million, we think it would be decent business. Anything more than that and it won’t be worth Moyes signing him, in my opinion.
