Hans Vanaken is allegedly trying to force through a move to West Ham United from Club Brugge this summer.
That’s according to a report from Belgian publication Nieuwsblad who claim that talks between the player and his club about a move to West Ham have been ‘constructive’.

Nieuwsblad claim that Club Brugge will not sanction his exit before bringing in a replacement though.

David Moyes is clearly keen to bring a top-class attacking midfielder into the London Stadium before the transfer window slams shut.
Whilst Vanaken is not a truly elite player, he is certainly an upgrade on what Moyes currently has at his disposal. And it seems as though the Belgium international is very keen to join the Hammers…
Hans Vanaken trying to force through West Ham move
Nieuwsblad reckon that the 29-year-old is keen to push through move to the London Stadium this summer.
During his time with Club Brugge, he’s bagged 102 goals and 73 assists in 344 games (Transfermarkt) – a tremendously impressive tally.
We’ve repeatedly insisted that the Belgian midfielder is far from our first choice. But let’s face it, he’ll be better than what Moyes currently has at his disposal.
The Belgian bagged 16 goals and seven assists in 45 games in the 2020/21 season and racked up 15 goals and 12 assists in 50 outings last term (Transfermarkt).

Standing at 6ft 5in tall, Vanaken is a real unit and has the kind of physicality needed to succeed in the Premier League.
There is one problem as far as we’re concerned though. The Club Brugge midfielder will be 30 later this month. That obviously doesn’t correlate with the Red Bull Model that David Moyes supposedly wants to implement at the London Stadium.
Moving to the Premier League from the Belgian league and succeeding is a tough ask for anybody. Let alone someone who is touching 30.
It will certainly be a tough challenge for the 29-year-old. 90 Min claim that Club Brugge want around €20 million (£17 million) for the Belgian. That seems way too steep in my opinion.
Who knows though? Perhaps Hans Vanaken will end up being a great signing for West Ham. We really hope that he does.
