West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee has delivered a fresh update on the club’s reported move for Duje Caleta-Car.

Hammers boss David Moyes is looking to sign a new centre back this summer after the departure of Fabian Balbuena (Claret and Hugh).
West Ham’s defensive rock Angelo Ogbonna turns 34 next season and Craig Dawson will be turning 32.

Moyes wants new defender after Balbuena departure
Meanwhile there remain question marks over the once highly valued Issa Diop.
So West Ham need to find a new centre half the right side of 30. But Moyes also likes his central defenders to have a good level of experience. So Caleta-Car fits the bill perfectly.
West Ham fans have been excited by claims from Foot Mercato that Moyes is reigniting interest in Marseille and Croatia defender Caleta-Car.
The 24-year-old was widely considered to have had a good game for Croatia in the defeat to England.

And Foot Mercato claimed West Ham are at the front of the queue with a bid ready to try and lure him from L’OM.
Now West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has delivered an update on the club’s interest in Caleta-Car.
“Interestingly in today’s (Sunday) game, a centre-back, I thought he played really, really well was Caleta-Car,” ExWHUemployee said on The West Ham Way podcast.
“Now he is someone we have been massively linked with last summer and were going to sign until he chose to stay at Marseille.

‘Great signing if this comes off so watch this window’
“I think we’re going to go back in for him this summer for a much-reduced fee of around £15m.
“He kept Harry Kane out of the game very, very well, he’s a big lump, he’s not that old either. I liked the look of him.
“I think he would be a great signing if this comes off so watch this window.”
Caleta-Car plays with former Hammer Dimitri Payet at Marseille.
Given the acrimonious nature of Payet’s departure from the club and abuse he received, West Ham fans will have to hope Caleta-Car does not seek any advice on the move from their former star.
