West Ham’s hunt for a striker is the worst kept secret in football as Moyes observes and scouts at Euros

Moyes is working for UEFA in a technical observer role at Euro 2020. And he has already suggested in his column in The Times that he will be scouting potential signings at the tournament.

The Scot and West Ham co-owner David Sullivan were reportedly seen in the crowd watching Czech Republic take on Scotland on Monday.

West Ham duo Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek both registered assists as the Czechs beat the Scots 2-0.

It was striker Patrik Schick who stole the show, though, with both goals. His first was a fantastic striker’s header from a Coufal cross.

And Shick’s second was a thing of beauty curling home an unerringly accurate bending drive to lob the stranded Scottish goalkeeper from near the halfway line.

And former Hammers goalkeeper, a firm favourite with fans, said Schick would be perfect for his old club.

“Ooof some strike that Schick Got a West Ham player written all over him,” Walker said on Twitter.

West Ham fans loved the idea.

Many agreed with Walker and tagged in Soucek and Coufal to start tapping the forward up.

With Moyes and Sullivan both watching on who knows perhaps the Hammers will end up testing Bayer Leverkusen’s resolve with a bid?

But West Ham fans should not get their hopes up.

Having only signed for the German club last September in a £23m deal on a five-year contract that looks a touch unlikely.
