Reporter Gianluca Di Marzio has made a hugely exciting double West Ham transfer claim after a torrid week for David Moyes.

After a promising couple of weeks recently, West Ham’s transfer window has hit a brick wall of late.

It has been a week to forget for Moyes on and off the pitch.

The increasingly agitated Scot lost his new £30m defender Nayef Aguerd to what looks a serious ankle injury in a dismal 3-1 defeat to Rangers.

After the game Moyes, usually very reserved when discussing anything relating to transfers, issued an ultimatum to West Ham owners David Sullivan, Daniel Kretinsky and David Gold.

Since then Thomas Tuchel has said he wants to keep West Ham striker target Armando Broja at Chelsea, Jesse Lingard has joined Nottingham Forest and left-back target David Raum is on the verge of a move to Leipzig.

But it looks as though there is some fast developing good news for Moyes and West Ham heading into the weekend.

Because renowned Italian transfer reporter Di Marzio has made a hugely exciting double West Ham transfer claim after torrid week for Moyes.

Di Marzio, who has his own website where he delivers ITK football and transfer news, claims West Ham are rapidly closing on signing both striker Gianluca Scamacca and left wingback-cum-winger Filip Kostic.

The Hammers have been linked with Scamacca for much of the summer and it was claimed earlier that a deal could be struck with Sassuolo today for less than the £42m asking price.

West Ham fans and Moyes know Serbia international Kostic well as he was a quality performer against the Hammers as he helped lead Eintracht Frankfurt to Europa League glory.

Now Di Marzio claims deals are close to being agreed for both players to join West Ham.

“Gianluca Scamacca is the number one target for the West Ham attack,” Di Marzio said on his website

“The English club presented Sassuolo with an offer of 36 million euros plus 6 of bonuses (£30m plus £5m).

“Work continues on bonuses and the percentage of future resale. West Ham want to beat the competition represented by Paris Saint-Germain.

“Not only Gianluca Scamacca: West Ham also want Filip Kostic. The English club has presented an offer of 12 million euros plus 3 of bonuses (£10m plus £2.5m) to Eintracht Frankfurt. The Germans, also by virtue of the contract that expires in June 2023, are close to accepting. Then you will have to find the economic agreement for the contract of the Serbian winger.”
