Graham Potter may well be forced into selling one player this summer who he fought very hard to keep at the club.

Potter has so much work to do at the London Stadium in the summer transfer window, if he is to get West Ham back fighting for the European places next season.

The squad is quite simply not good enough right now, after two years of really poor business in the transfer market.

Potter is keen to oversee a big squad revamp at West Ham in the summer, and boy do we need that.

The Hammers head coach needs to sign a new striker, at least two central midfielders, a centre-back, a winger, a goalkeeper and probably a versatile full-back as well.

In order for that to happen though, Potter will need to make numerous sales first, with funds believed to be tight at West Ham.

And one man in particular will seemingly be able to fetch a decent fee.

Genuine chance Luis Guilherme could leave West Ham

Luis Guilherme joined the Hammers from Palmeiras in the summer of 2024 for around £25 million.

It has been claimed that Guilherme has seriously failed to impress during West Ham training.

However, Potter did do everything in his power to keep the young Brazilian at the London Stadium on transfer deadline day in the January window.

With the Hammers in desperate need of funds now though, the board may well go over Potter’s head regarding Guilherme’s future.

According to 1908.nl out in Holland, Feyenoord have a ‘concrete interest’ in signing Guilherme from West Ham this summer.

And if the Dutch outfit offer anything like £15 million or more for the 19-year-old, there is no doubt that he’ll be moved on in the summer transfer window.

Guilherme a bizarre signing for West Ham from the start

Back in the summer of 2024, the Hammers were crying out for a pacy centre-forward and a powerful central midfield ball carrier.

However, Lopetegui and Tim Steidten ended up signing Luis Guilherme instead – an unproven teenage winger.

It was a truly baffling signing from the Hammers at the time.

Who knows, Guilherme may well end up being a very good player, but he’s not what West Ham need right now.

And it would be no surprise to see him leave the club this summer.
