West Ham United fans will be praying for an exciting summer transfer window ahead.

Graham Potter needs to oversee a complete overhaul of the West Ham squad, with numerous incomings and outgoings expected at London Stadium.

Potter is said to have really exciting plans for West Ham this summer.

He will obviously want to improve the quality of football played at the London Stadium.

But he needs to oversee a big turnover amongst the playing staff as well.

And the outlook seems rather bleak right now regarding that.

Jacob Steinberg’s transfer update will stun the West Ham fans

The current squad at the London Stadium has been poorly put together over the past few years.

And Potter certainly won’t be able to fix it in one or two transfer windows.

The 49-year-old has taken on a 2-3 year project.

However, there’s seemingly bad news ahead for the Hammers head coach.

The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg has claimed that it will not be easy for Potter to fix all of his squad issues this summer, due to the small budget available to him.

That is an absolute gutter for the Hammers fans.

So many new signings are required, but Potter may well have to work with one hand tied behind his back.

West Ham’s transfer plan is now obvious

It’s quite clear to see that the Hammers will look to sell Mohammed Kudus, and maybe Lucas Paqueta as well, in order to fund the much-needed rebuild at the London Stadium.

If Potter is able to get close to £100 million for those two players, or even £80 million odd, he will be in a really strong position to completely transform his Hammers squad.

West Ham are in desperate need of more pace, power, energy, athleticism and youth.

Graham Potter should be looking to sign at least five new players this summer, whilst the same amount should be moved on, as an absolute bare minimum.

However, the fact that Steinberg has suggested that funds are tight will undoubtedly leave the West Ham fans gobsmacked.

Especially considering the fact they were promised that moving to the London Stadium meant that the club would be able to compete financially with the biggest clubs in the world.
