Gabby Agbonlahor has sent a strong warning to West Ham about our alleged interest in signing Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the 25-year-old Everton centre-forward to the London Stadium this summer according to the likes of The Sun and Claret and Hugh.

West Ham desperately need to sign a new striker before the start of next season.

Michail Antonio has been our only option through the middle since we sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January 2021.

Everton hitman Calvert-Lewin seemingly has everything that Moyes looks for in a striker.

The 25-year-old is comfortable when leading the line on his own and is always willing to make the tireless runs into the channels. He is very, very good in the air as well.

The Hammers have been sent a word of warning about Dominic Calvert-Lewin though…

Agbonlahor has a big warning for West Ham about Calvert-Lewin

The ex-Aston Villa ace is now a well-renowned pundit.

He has come out with plenty of controversial opinions in the past but every now and again he hits the nail on the head.

Agbonlahor was speaking on talkSPORT and highlighted a lot of weaknesses in Calvert-Lewin’s game:

“He can’t create his own goals. Yes, maybe West Ham because they like to get crosses in the box. But, Al, he doesn’t make his own goals. He has to lay it off and get in the box and the cross has got to be perfect for him to get a goal. He’s not going to get the ball into his feet, turn and score a goal. That’s not him.”

Calvert-Lewin will be hugely expensive this summer.

The 25-year-old was once valued at around £60 million but now could be available for less according to The Sun.

Even if Everton demand £40-45 million for him, signing him would be a big risk for West Ham this summer.

And after hearing Agbonlahor speak on Calvert-Lewin though, perhaps West Ham would be better off avoiding a move to sign him this summer!
