The West Ham players, fans and David Moyes will be confident of beating Lyon but the Ligue 1 side are undoubtedly a dangerous outfit.

Peter Bosz has built a very strong team at the Groupama Stadium, in spite of their poor league position this season. The French outfit will be confident heading into the Europa League clash with West Ham having dispatched of Porto in the last round.

It seems as though Lyon have been dealt an incredibly big blow ahead of tomorrow night’s game against the Hammers though…

Lyon handed blow ahead of Europa League clash with West Ham

RMC Sport claims that Karl Toko Ekambi will miss out against the Hammers because he still hasn’t recovered from Covid-19.

It is suggested that he hasn’t even travelled to London (RMC Sport).

That really is a huge blow for Lyon given how influential the 29-year-old winger has been for them this season.

The 46-capped Cameroon international has bagged 13 goals and five assists in 31 games for the Ligue 1 outfit so far this term (Transfermarkt).

Ekambi is a right footed left winger. He possesses real pace, technical ability and plays with a certain kind of directness that would have undoubtedly caused us problems at the London Stadium.

Bosz and the Lyon fans will be gutted that the 29-year-old won’t be able to play tomorrow night.

We firmly believe that West Ham will have enough to beat Lyon tomorrow night in the Europa League quarter-final first-leg clash at the London Stadium.

And with Ekambi not fit to play tomorrow, our chances of doing just that have increased even more so.

A truly huge blow for Lyon and a real boost for West Ham at the same time.
