Foreign press claim West Ham have made an official first move in a bid to sign 16-cap international powerhouse Jonathan Tah.
West Ham are desperately in need of a new top class centre-back this summer and have been heavily linked with Man United outcast Harry Maguire and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah.
According to a recent report from BILD, 6ft 5in Tah is firmly in West Ham’s sights as the summer transfer window approaches.
The 27-year-old centre-back has been regularly linked with a move to east London in the past – most recently back in April.

Foreign press claim West Ham have made first move for 16-cap international powerhouse Jonathan Tah
As seems to be the case with almost every West Ham transfer target, though, Spurs have allegedly started sniffing around Tah too this week (Bild).
There has been a development overnight, though, if reports are to be believed.
Because foreign press claim West Ham have made an official first move in a bid to sign 16-cap international powerhouse Tah.
According to both Sky Sports in Germany yesterday evening and Get Football News Germany, West Ham have officially made an enquiry for German international Tah.
And incredibly the Hammers could get him for a bargain £15.5m due to a release clause in his contract.

Europa League football could be key to luring Tah
That would be an absolute bargain for the big, strong defender who seems ideally suited to English football.
“Jonathan Tah is attracting interest from the Premier League with West Ham United enquiring about the German defender,” the reports state.
“It is reported that Tah has an €18m (£15.5m) release clause within his contract, which is considerably low for the level of performance he has been producing this season. Therefore, the interest in the centre-back is high, and Premier League clubs are monitoring the German’s situation.”
The reports also state that securing Europa League football could be key for West Ham if they want to lure Thilo Kehrer’s international teammate to the London Stadium, though.
He will have that at Leverkusen next season. But so too will the Hammers if they can overcome Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday night.
