Florian Grillitsch is still available on a free transfer so the question has to be asked – what are West Ham waiting for?

Hammers manager David Moyes wants to bring the 26-year-old midfielder to the London Stadium this summer according to the likes of Area Napoli.

Grillitsch would be the absolutely perfect signing for West Ham United this summer.

Central midfield is an area at the London Stadium where Moyes desperately needs to strengthen before the start of the new season, with Mark Noble and Alex Kral no longer part of the squad.

The problem for Moyes is that he has so many areas of his squad that need strengthening and without an unlimited budget, that could prove to be problematic.

And bearing that in mind, there is one player out there who would be absolutely perfect for the Hammers…

Signing Florian Grillitsch on a free transfer is a no-brainer for West Ham

The 33-capped Austria International is currently without a club after his release from Hoffenheim.

And the Hammers can’t afford to hang around. Moyes needs to snap up Grillitsch immediately before another club do.

He is a truly brilliant player and is available for absolutely nothing!

The 26-year-old made 18 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim last season. During those outings, Grillitsch averaged 2.1 tackles, 1.6 interceptions and two clearances per match (Who Scored).

The Austrian is a very good passer of the footballer. He averaged 58.1 passes per game with an impressive completion rate of 89.4% (Who Scored).

Standing at 6ft 2in tall, Grillitsch possesses all of the physical attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.

He is energetic, powerful, has plenty of stamina and is tenacious in the tackle. He can also play at centre-back if need be!

Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann once described Grillitsch as an ‘exceptional’ footballer, as quoted by Sky Sports Austria:

“In my opinion, Flo Grillitsch is one of the best players in the Bundesliga. He still has room for improvement, he knows that, I’ve told him that often enough. But he is an exceptional footballer and has an incredible gift for setting the rhythm of the game.”

Signing Florian Grillitsch on a free transfer seems like an absolute no-brainer for West Ham. Let’s hope we get this done with the minimum of fuss in the summer.
