The Italian journalist claims that the Hammers have now made an official move for the 25-year-old central midfielder.
And Alvarez seems to be very keen to move to the London Stadium at any moment according to Romano:
I reckon that he’ll end up costing us closer to £35 million, but even for that kind of money, it will be a good deal for West Ham.
Alvarez is a tough-tackling, passionate midfielder, and he has everything Moyes needs in the middle of the park at West Ham.
His playing style is quintessentially Mexican in the sense that he plays with his heart on his sleeve, so he should be perfectly suited to Premier League football.
I fully expect West Ham to wrap up a deal to sign Edson Alvarez within the next few days, and if Moyes is successful in doing exactly that, I’ll be more than happy with the Mexican arriving at the London Stadium.
