West Ham United are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Edson Alvarez from Ajax this summer.
According to De Telegraaf, a deal to bring Edson Alvarez to West Ham is expected to go through quickly.
Hammers boss David Moyes is still yet to make a single signing in the summer transfer window.

Alvarez, 25, is someone who West Ham have chased all summer long.
And after today’s hammering from Bayer Leverkusen, it’s clear to see that Moyes needs to get some new signings through the door asap…
Fresh Edson Alvarez claim made by Dutch media as West Ham close in on bargain transfer
De Telegraaf claim that the Mexico international could be set to sign for the Hammers imminently.
I think that the 25-year-old will be a very good signing for West Ham this summer.
The Hammers have allegedly offered €30 million (£26 million) for Alvarez, with Ajax holding out for closer to €40 million (£35 million), according to De Telegraaf.
I suspect that the two clubs will meet somewhere in the middle – perhaps around the £30-32 million mark.
Alvarez is perfectly suited to Premier League football, what with his tenacious tackling, impressive physicality and energy and stamina levels.

Sure, the Mexican isn’t as good as Declan Rice in possession, but he doesn’t need to be.
He will sit in front of the Hammers’ back-line, provide a level of protection that we’ve been missing and his job will be to intercept the opposition’s play inside our defensive third, before passing the ball on to his more technically gifted teammates.
I strongly believe that £30 million, or even £35 million, would represent very good value indeed for West Ham.
Let’s hope that the owners manage to get this deal done with the minimum of fuss. I certainly won’t be holding my breath though, that’s for sure!
