West Ham United’s number one striker target Tammy Abraham has changed his mind on a move to the club.
That’s going by the latest update from West Ham insider ExWHUemployee.
It is perhaps the worst kept secret in football that West Ham are desperate to sign at least one striker this summer.
David Moyes has been left with the brilliant but injury prone Michail Antonio as his only senior forward following the sale of Sebastien Haller in January.
Hammers linked with all and sundry by insider claimed Chelsea outcast Abraham was the prime target
The Hammers have been linked with a host of forwards over the last six months. But way back in April ExWHUemployee claimed Chelsea outcast Abraham was West Ham’s most wanted to fill the striker void.
The likes of Aston Villa, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked.
And Sky Sports recently claimed Abraham has officially been put up for sale and Chelsea ‘will consider any offers’.
Striker wanted Hammers move less than three weeks ago – insider
“Apparently Abraham is keen on a move to West Ham,” Ex said on The West Ham Way podcast mid-July.
“He likes Declan, he likes some of the other players in the squad and obviously he’s a London boy and stuff so I think he is tempted to come to West Ham.
“And obviously Moyes likes him a lot so we might see some movement on that in the next few weeks.”
But Abraham appears to have had a change of heart.
But now Abraham does not want to join West Ham says ExWHUemployee
That’s after a sobering update from Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon site overnight in which he claims Abraham doesn’t want to join the Hammers and has his heart set on boyhood club Arsenal.
“The move for Tammy Abraham doesn’t appear to be happening at the moment,” ExWHUemployee claims.
“The player doesn’t really want to join the club, I think he has his eyes set on Arsenal regardless of whether we meet his wages demands, wages demands that have also been described as excessive.”
So it seems Moyes’s patience in waiting for Abraham has not paid off.
