David Moyes’s prime striker target Tammy Abraham is keen on a move to West Ham United.
That’s according to West Ham insider ExWHUemployee.
It is one of the worst kept secret in football that West Ham are desperate to sign a striker this summer.
Moyes has the excellent but injury prone Michail Antonio as his only senior forward following the sale of Sebastien Haller in January.
Moyes desperate for new striker and insider has always maintained Abraham is his prime target
The Hammers boss banked the £20m raised through Haller’s sale to spend on a striker this summer.
West Ham have been linked with a host of forwards over the last six months. But ExWHUemployee has always insisted Chelsea outcast Abraham is Moyes’s number one target.
Way back in April ExWHUemployee claimed Abraham had emerged as West Ham’s most wanted to fill the striker void.
Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the striker.
Ex claims Chelsea outcast Tammy is ‘keen’ on West Ham move
But now, speaking on the latest West Ham Way podcast, Ex has explained why Abraham is ‘keen’ on a move to the London Stadium.
“For the forward position, Tammy Abraham – it’s worth noting he hasn’t joined anyone yet despite strong interest from Aston Villa who have signed some players this window, proving that they’re not prepared to wait if they think they’ve got the right person,” Ex said on The West Ham Way podcast this week.
“Apparently Abraham is keen on a move to West Ham. He likes Declan, he likes some of the other players in the squad and obviously he’s a London boy and stuff so I think he is tempted to come to West Ham.
“And obviously Moyes likes him a lot so we might see some movement on that in the next few weeks.”
Recent report claimed £30m could get deal done
Ex’s claim comes after a recruitment source recently told Football Insider that West Ham are the current front runners to land Abraham.
Football Insider also reports that a bid of around £30m should be enough to ensure West Ham seal the deal.
