Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his central defensive ranks this summer.

Money is tight at the London Stadium, however. So the Scot will have to be thrifty in the transfer market.

It’s no surprise that Forest ace Worrall is a target for West Ham this summer.

The Athletic claimed a few weeks back that the towering centre-back is a target for David Moyes.

Club insiders Claret and Hugh suggest that the man-mountain of a centre-back could be available for just £8 million.

That seems outstanding value. Whether it will take more than that to prise him away from the City Ground, however, remains to be seen.

Joe Worrall lowdown

We spoke to Nottingham Forest expert Lee Clarke about the 24-year-old centre-back and asked him if he’s a popular character at the City Ground…

“Absolutely, we love him, he’s arguably our best player.”

Worrall is well known for being an aerially dominant and a tough tackling centre-back.

Does he have any more strings to his bow though?

Clarke thinks so:

“He does like to play out from the back but that is work in progress. He’s not known for errors with it but you can tell he’s more comfortable with the old-fashioned stuff. That said, he’s very composed, very mature and is a real leader from the back for us.”

Judging by Clarke’s words, Worrall is the absolute ideal signing for us this summer, considering what David Moyes looks for in a centre-back.

Links with the Forest ace have gone quiet over the past few weeks or so. We could do a lot worse than Worrall though, that’s for sure.

We’d be more than happy if he rocked up at the London Stadium this summer.
