An exciting new West Ham transfer claim has been made about flying US star Bryan Reynolds but there’s a bizarre twist.
West Ham have plenty of work to do in the summer transfer window.
With Declan Rice leaving, a new centre-back needed and uncertainty surrounding all three of West Ham’s strikers – the Hammers are going to be busy.
Another key position – which should have been addressed last summer – is at right-back.
Vladimir Coufal has returned to something like his best in recent months. And Thilo Kehrer has done relatively well covering there of late.

Right-back situation needs to be addressed
But Ben Johnson is nowhere near the required standard. So West Ham need to look to sign a young, pacy modern right-back in the window.
Therefore links to Roma’s 21-year-old Bryan Reynolds make total sense.
The youngster joined Roma from FC Dallas in 2021 for around £6 million. And despite not featuring much for the Italian giants, he has impressed during loan spells away from the Italian capital.
Reynolds has been heavily linked with West Ham over the last week.

Now word is the Hammers are ‘in talks’.
An exciting new West Ham transfer claim has been made about flying US star Reynolds but there’s a bizarre twist.
According to The Athletic, West Ham are in talks to sign Reynolds from Roma, where he has played just one minute of Serie A football under Jose Mourinho.
But the twist is that West Ham would then immediately loan the USA international out to Sparta Prague – the club owned by the Hammers’ second majority stakeholder Daniel Kretinsky.

Alleged West Ham plan seems strange given Hammers need
“Part of West Ham’s plan would be to loan Reynolds to Sparta Prague next season for consistent playing time, a source with knowledge of the discussions told The Athletic,” the report states.
On the face of it, Reynolds is just what West Ham need. He impressed on loan in Belgium last season.
And while the Premier League is a massive step up, deputising for Coufal would surely be a great learning curve for the jet-heeled right-back next season?
On one hand a refreshing approach in line with the Red Bull model David Moyes pledged to bring to West Ham. But that would still leave the Hammers needing to address that position for next season.
