West Ham sung a song about Millwall to goad home fans during the final day drama which saw Leicester relegated.

There was plenty of jeopardy riding on West Ham’s last game of the season away at Leicester City.

But in the end it was not to be for the Foxes despite a 2-1 win over a West Ham side who patently had more than one eye on the Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina.

The Hammers by no means disgraced themselves and David Moyes’ integrity could not be questioned as he picked a strong West Ham starting XI for the crucial game.

Leicester had more at stake, though, and for many of West Ham’s players it was a matter of getting through the match unscathed.

Everton’s nervy 1-0 win at home to Bournemouth secured safety for Moyes’ old side.

For West Ham’s travelling fans this was one big sing-a-long with ditties about Prague and Declan Rice among the relentless chants.

West Ham also sung a song about Millwall to goad home fans during the final day drama which saw Leicester relegated.

Having sung ‘We’re going Prague, you’re going down’ to the Foxes, West Ham supporters then had a mention for their oldest rivals Millwall.

Hammers rub salt in the wound but all eyes were on Prague

“Say hello to Millwall, say hello to Millwall, la la la la” the Hammers faithful belted out as Leicester faced up to their impending demotion to join West Ham’s fierce rivals in the Championship.

There were several subplots to the match.

It seems as though West Ham got through the game without any injuries ahead of the big final.

And it was likely Rice’s last Premier League game in a West Ham shirt.

With 10 minutes added on in the Everton game, Leicester’s fans and players were left in limbo at the final whistle of the win over West Ham.

Players gathered around watching the last minutes at Goodison Park but their fate was sealed.

For West Ham thoughts had already turned to Prague, long before kick off let alone at the end of what has been a disappointing league campaign overall.
