One time West Ham winger Felipe Anderson is set to hold talks with Aston Villa about a move back to England.
Felipe Anderson left West Ham to link up with his ex-club Lazio in the summer of 2021, after struggling for game-time under Hammers boss David Moyes, but now it seems like Aston Villa could bring him back to the Premier League.
The January transfer window is open and clubs are beginning to do their business, but Villa already seem to want to get a deal done and dusted for Anderson for the summer.
Since the 30-year-old left West Ham, he has been in brilliant form for Lazio, and I think Moyes made a big mistake by selling him for just £4 million.
It seems like the Hammers boss could really end up regretting the decision to let the Brazilian winger leave the club two-and-a-half years ago.
That’s because Sky Sports are claiming that Aston Villa are ready to speak with Anderson this month to make a pre-contract agreement ahead of signing him for free in the summer.
Unai Emery’s side are absolutely flying in the Premier League right now, so the Lazio star must be doing something right if he’s wanted by the Spaniard…

Felipe Anderson wanted by Aston Villa
The 30-year-old winger has bagged 20 goals and 23 assists for Lazio since returning to the club in 2021 (Transfermarkt).
He has shown real form, and there are no signs that he’s about to slow down.
If Villa are set to open pre-contract talks to sign him, it would highlight a big mistake made by Moyes.
I feel like he should have either kept hold of him for longer or sold him for a much larger fee. His form back in Italy is proof that he’s still got what it takes to make a big difference at the very highest level of the game.
The funny thing is that we could really do with someone like the South American winger right now, with Mohammed Kudus set to miss around four or five weeks of action whilst away at AFCON and Lucas Paqueta out injured.
If Felipe Anderson joins Aston Villa on a free transfer in the summer, and ends up ripping it up with the west Midlands outfit, it will make West Ham look very silly indeed.
