Napoli are eyeing up a move to sign West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca, should they decide to cash in on Victor Osimhen.

That’s according to a report from Area Napoli who claim that the Serie A giants have drawn up a shortlist of potential Osimhen replacements, including the likes of Scamacca, Walid Cheddira, Beto and Jonathan David.

He has begun his career with the Hammers in fairly disappointing fashion though, and has already been linked with a move to Inter Milan.

In my opinion, Scamacca’s tepid form has been down to David Moyes’s poor management of him and the way in which the Scot sets up his team.

For what its worth, I think the 24-year-old is actually a magnificent striker, and I really hope we have the chance to see the best of him at the London Stadium.

However, it appears as though a future move back to his homeland could be on the cards unfortunately…

West Ham striker Scamacca a target for Italian giants

Napoli are eyeing up the Italy international as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen, should he leave the club, according to a report from Area Napoli.

The Nigerian is valued at around €140 million (£120 million), so Napoli could have plenty of cash at their disposal soon.

Surely Moyes won’t even be considering moving the 24-year-old on, he has so much to give at the very highest level.

Selling him would be a terrible decision in my option, and hopefully the claims are nothing more than paper talk.

Having said that, it would not surprise me one little bit if Napoli do in fact want to sign the ex-Sassuolo ace.

Things just haven’t quite clicked for him at the London Stadium yet, but I grantee you if Moyes changes the system and gets the wingers playing closer to him, he will flourish.

If the West Ham boss ends up selling Scamacca, he will undoubtedly live to regret that decision.
