There has just been a hugely contrasting claim made about West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca.

Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that West Ham have in fact issued a firm ‘no’ to Roma regarding their attempts to sign Gianluca Scamacca on loan.

This comes after it was claimed that the East London outfit are open to letting the 24-year-old striker leave on loan this summer.

The high-profile Italian football journalist certainly knows his stuff, and when he speaks, people tend to listen.

He claims that there was a negative response from the Hammers when Roma made an approach about signing Scamacca, and the Italian club received a firm no when they asked for a loan deal.

David Moyes signed the Italy international, so the onus is on him to get the best out of him.

Gianluca Scamacca possesses exceptional technical ability and has a ferocious shot on him, so it’s little wonder why Roma might want to sign him.

If Moyes played with two narrow wingers, another centre-forward alongside Scamacca, or even with someone operating closely in behind him, I’m sure that he would succeed at the London Stadium.

However, I can’t see Moyes changing his system and playing style any time soon. And for that reason, I still believe that the 24-year-old will leave…seemingly not on loan though.
