The need for a new striker at West Ham United has been well-documented this month.
Michail Antonio was ruled out for a year at least back in December after he was involved in a road traffic accident.
Meanwhile, Graham Potter‘s reign as West Ham head coach got off to a terrible start when Niclas Fullkrug seriously injured his hamstring against Aston Villa in the FA Cup.
Since then, West Ham have been linked with moves for numerous attacking players.
However, there have been some not-so exciting names linked with the Hammers as well.

I’m really hoping that the board show some real ambition before the window slams shut.
However, it seems like they could be set to make a really underwhelming signing.
Devastating striker blow will infuriate the West Ham fans
If Potter fails to get the signing of a top-class striker over the line before Monday’s deadline, we will be in real trouble in my opinion.
We are so weak in the attacking department right now.
Even with Jarrod Bowen closing in on a return from injury, Potter still has a concerning lack of options up front.

And the really bad news is that the injury prone Andre Silva seems to be the most likely signing this month, according to club insiders Claret and Hugh.
That claim is in direct contrast to a report from BILD earlier that suggested West Ham are still to submit a formal offer for the 29-year-old striker.
Let’s hope that the German publication are correct.
I would much prefer the Hammers to sign Brian Brobbey or Evan Ferguson in the January transfer window.
Silva has spent nearly two years on the sidelines since the start of the 2022/23 season due to various different injuries, and he’s the last signing we should be making.
I’ll be terribly disappointed if the RB Leipzig man is the striker West Ham sign in the January transfer window.
