The Hammers have completed an impressive first half of our 2021/22 campaign.

We are currently flying high in fifth spot in the Premier League table and have qualified through to the last 16 of the Europa League.

In order to maintain our position in the league and really kick on in the new year though, West Ham manager David Moyes must bolster his ranks at the London Stadium in January.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

There can be no excuses. It seems as though it might be harder to strengthen than some may think, however…

David Moyes makes January transfer window admission

It could be agreed that West Ham need at least two signings if we are to maintain our place inside the top six in the table during the second half of the season.

The additions of a top-class striker and an established centre-back will be an absolute must for the Hammers in January.

Moyes suggested that it could be very hard to strengthen his ranks at the London Stadium next month, when speaking to the Evening Standard:

“There might be people who you want to target but the other clubs don’t want to sell them. I’ve got a player in mind who we would like but the club said they wouldn’t sell in January so you’ve got to wait until the summer. That is why I see a bit more of that in this window than I’ve seen before. You don’t get the feeling that there are clubs who are desperate for the money as they were this time last year where they needed the money to see them through.”

Let’s hope that Moyes is just playing it cool.

There can be no excuses in January. Moyes absolutely has to sign at least two new players if we are to enjoy success this season.

That may well be out of his hands, who knows? The West Ham owners might not be prepared to spend and that would be no surprise to any of us.

All we can hope for is that Moyes is pushing them as hard as possible to act. And Daniel Kretinsky’s recent investment should stand us in good stead, so it’s not all bad news.

The January transfer widow opens tomorrow. Three points away at Crystal Palace and a couple of new arrivals would be a brilliant way to start 2022. That’s not asking for too much is it?? Is it???
