David Moyes could yet offer Callum Wilson a Premier League lifeline if and when he leaves West Ham.
Nuno Espirito Santo has already confirmed that Wilson can leave West Ham this month, with his contract widely expected to be ripped up.
It remains to be seen whether that is a good decision or not. The England international certainly isn’t the force of old and may not be the most mobile forward around but could at least offer something.
Callum Wilson is in talks to leave West Ham…
What would YOU do with Wilson had you been calling the shots? 🤔
Still, the signings of Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe have pushed Wilson down the pecking order.
While not to completely write off his chances, it does seem as if Wilson would struggle for minutes if and when all of Nuno’s forwards are fit.
As such, he looks set to depart only a few months after joining West Ham United.
There have been plenty of landing spots touted, such as Celtic, clubs in the Championship, Sevilla and the Saudi Pro League.
However, a rival Premier League club could also enter the race.
Everton interested in Callum Wilson
According to The Athletic, Everton are in fact among the teams who hold an interest in Wilson.
Former West Ham boss Moyes is seemingly looking to bring more goals into his side, with the Toffees manager also keen on Youssef En-Nesyri.
It would be interesting to see the reaction if Everton do sign Wilson.
Some West Ham fans would certainly be within their rights to ask quite why he’s deemed good enough for an Everton side higher up the Premier League table than the Hammers, but not enough for the Irons themselves.

Callum Wilson set to leave West Ham imminently
The idea of Wilson leaving the club was first raised a while back now.
While the former Newcastle forward hasn’t been in the last two match day squads, he does remain on the books for now.
That will surely change as the month progresses, particularly now that Castellanos is up and running in the goalscoring charts.

In fact, last week, leading transfer journalist Ben Jacobs tipped Wilson to leave West Ham imminently.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Friday 9 January, 2026, Jacobs revealed that he expected Wilson to depart “maybe in the next week or so”.
He seems very likely to be a free agent soon and perhaps Moyes could benefit.
