West Ham United have held talks with Elche about the possibility of signing Tete Morente in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from The Sunday Mirror (May 1st, page 74 )who claim that the Hammers are close to agreeing a £7 million deal to sign the 24-year-old winger after a successful round of talks with Elche.

West Ham boss David Moyes has a lot of work to do in the transfer market this summer.
It could actually be argued that he has to strengthen in pretty much every department of his squad at the London Stadium.
One area in particular where the Hammers manager needs to bolster is his wide attacking department with Andriy Yarmolenko set to leave in the summer and Nikola Vlasic having failed to impress so far in East London.
And it seems as though Moyes could be closing in on a new addition…

The Sunday Mirror reckon that the Hammers have already held positive talks with La Liga side Elche about signing Tete Morente for around £7 million.
The Spanish attacker is highly regarded in Spain and has enjoyed a pretty productive campaign so far.
Morente has bagged three goals and three assists in 27 La Liga games for Elche so far (Transfermarkt).
The 25-year-old is a skilful, technically gifted left-winger by trade but he can also operate out on the right.
The Elche ace is a very decent player and would be a decent addition for West Ham. We have to say though…should Moyes not be setting his sights a lot higher than Tete Morente?
The Spaniard’s history of just 14 goals and 19 assists in 175 games (Transfermarkt) reeks of an average player at best.
West Ham are a club with lofty ambitions. Or should I say, we supposedly are…
Morente would not be a bad option for the Hammers but as nothing more than a squad filler. We’re expecting David Moyes to make some top-class signings at the end of the season in order to make up for a couple of very poor additions last summer.
And in my opinion, Tete Morente does not fit into that category.
