David Moyes can finally sign Marko Arnautovic clone for West Ham with a bargain £9.5 million January deal for Marcus Thuram.

According to a report from SportBild, Borussia Monchengladbach are trying to sell the 25-year-old for €12 million (£9.5 million) this winter, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2023.

Moyes is allegedly keen to bring France International striker Thuram to the London Stadium.

The problem for the Scot is that so many other top clubs want to sign him, including the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal (BILD).

I believe that West Ham could steal a march on our rivals though, and that would entail Moyes making an early move to sign him in January, rather than waiting around for the chance to pick him up on a free transfer in six month’s time.

The Hammers manager really needs another centre-forward option at the London Stadium. And in my opinion, Thuram would literally be the ideal addition to Moyes’s ranks…

West Ham should strike January deal for Arnautovic clone

The 25-year-old Monchengladbach forward’s playing style is very similar to ex-Hammer Marko Arnautovic. He is an absolute handful for opposing defenders, and never gives them a moments rest.

The Austrian hitman spent two years at the London Stadium before leaving to join Shanghai SIPG in 2019. Despite his acrimonious exit from West Ham, most fans will agree that we really miss him, even to this day.

But now Moyes has a great chance to properly replace him.

Standing at 6ft 4in tall, Thuram is an absolute unit, and seems to be perfectly built for the robust nature of English football.

The 25-year-old is a top-class striker, and he has been described as a ‘sensational’ player by scouting, statistics and analytical website Total Football Analysis.

Meanwhile, Get Football News Germany describe him as a ‘world-class’ striker – quite the compliment!

Thuram possesses blistering pace and can play anywhere along the front-line. He has bagged 13 goals and four assists in 17 games for Gladbach so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The nine-capped France international is a really explosive striker, and is a constant menace for opposing defenders.

His pace and exceptional movement would offer West Ham a completely different facet to our attacking play.

I believe that Thuram is primed to move to the Premier League from the Bundesliga, and he would take the English game by storm in my opinion.

The Frenchman would provide fantastic competition for Gianluca Scamacca up front, and David Moyes could even play the two together as a pair. What defender would relish that challenge? Not a single one I would imagine.

West Ham allegedly can strike a January deal for Thuram for just £9.5 million. And that would have to go down as one of our very best value for money signings in recent years if it happens.
