Journalist Darren Lewis has made a West Ham January transfer upgrade claim live on talkSPORT and it’s good news for Wolves.
In case you hadn’t noticed, the January transfer window is open, the rumour mill is whirring and both West Ham and Wolverhampton Wanderers are scrambling to do business in their bid to avoid the drop.
West Ham are sitting in 17th place and were only being kept out of the relegation zone by Aston Villa’s equaliser against Wolves last time out.
West Ham now face a tough trip to Wolves in a huge six-pointer on Saturday afternoon.

The match brings both teams to the halfway stage of the season and Wolves have looked a much-improved side under Julen Lopetegui.
There has been fresh speculation ahead of the game that Hammers fan favourite Craig Dawson could finally be set for the move to Molineux he came close to completing in the summer.
As most Hammers fans will be aware, Dawson wants to move to a club further north for family reasons.
There has been some doubt cast – understandably – over whether West Ham would allow Dawson or Antonio to join a direct rival given what is at stake for both clubs.
Now journalist Darren Lewis has made a West Ham January transfer upgrade claim live on talkSPORT and it’s good news for Wolves.
According to Lewis West Ham are seriously considering allowing Dawson to leave because they have plans to sign an upgrade in central defence this month (talkSPORT).

“It is a difficult call (for West Ham) but I’ve got to tell you my understanding is that they might look to upgrade in that position,” Lewis said on talkSPORT.
“He’s been a wonderful player for them, bought him very cheaply – first on loan – then for around about £1.5m and he’d been so reliable that the fans refer to him as Ballon Dawson – which is quite original and I wish I’d thought of that first!
“I think he wants to play more regularly, they need more defensive strength, they’re down where they are precisely because their defensive record this season hasn’t been anywhere near as good as last season so they’ve got to look at more defensive reinforcements.
“And I think in this window if they (West Ham) can get the players they want in that position, they would trade (Dawson to Wolves). Me personally I wouldn’t let him go, I think he’s a wonderful player, very dependable indeed, but I do know that they are looking at other options for that position and if they can get those options then they would look to allow him to go to Wolves.”
Lewis’ claims will be music to the ears of Wolves and Lopetegui, who are said to be pushing to get a deal done for Dawson as soon as possible.
The journalist’s update also ties in with claims that West Ham have held ‘exploratory talks’ over a move for 6ft 3in Senegal defender Formose Mendy.
