Footage shows West Ham star Pablo Fornals training alone for a very specific reason after winning his place back in the side.

Before the 2-2 draw at Leeds, Hammers News reported how David Moyes had turned his back on Fornals when he was just what West Ham needed to help stop the rot.

The Spaniard lost his place in the West Ham starting XI before the World Cup. And he was an unused substitute in the defeat to Brentford.

A fit and firing Fornals is so crucial to this West Ham team’s success with his positive, inventive passing through the lines – which is potentially game-changing – and his workrate, desire, attitude and enthusiasm too.

The Cockney Carzola duly won his place back for the 2-2 draw at Leeds and was arguably our best player on the night.

At the weekend we reported how Fornals had proved his point to Moyes but still needs to seriously work on his finishing after spurning some golden chances.

In 121 Premier League appearances for the Hammers, the fan favourite has scored 14 goals (Premier League).

That figure should be at least double given the chances Fornals spurns.

Fornals all too often mishits or scuffs his shots in and around the box. It is one of the most frustrating parts of his game.

Well it seems he and the manager are trying to do something about it.

Towards the end of the session when the rest of the squad had returned to the dressing room, Fornals can be seen moving a goal into position with young goalkeeper Krisztián Hegyi.

West Ham’s number eight then does a finishing drill with coach Paul Nevin as he looks to improve his shooting accuracy and composure.

It was a mixed bag from Fornals with some typically mishit efforts but he also produced some tidy finishes.

Let’s hope we see more of those when he surely retains his place in the team for the six-pointer at Molinuex this weekend.
