West Ham have suffered somewhat of a blow with the news that Chelsea will no longer be pursuing a move to sign Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Athletic claims that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is now seeing alternative attacking transfer options this summer.

And that will do West Ham’s hopes of signing Chelsea hitman Armando Broja no good whatsoever.
West Ham were believed to be leading the race to sign the Albania international but The Athletic claiming that Broja has headed out to America to join his Chelsea teammates on their pre-season tour really came as a shock.

And now it seems as though the Hammers have been dealt yet another Broja blow…
Chelsea make Cristiano Ronaldo decision
According to a report from The Athletic, the West London outfit will no longer attempt to sign the 37-year-old Manchester United superstar.
If that is the case, perhaps Thomas Tuchel will decide to keep Broja at Stamford Bridge.
Ronaldo is a world-class player, arguably in the top five all-time. Maybe Tuchel views Broja as a better player for his playing style at Chelsea though.
And that obviously would be terrible news for West Ham.
The 20-year-old Chelsea striker is absolutely perfect for us and it’s no surprise why David Moyes has made him one of his number one transfer targets this summer.
Had Chelsea signed Cristian Ronaldo, there would have been no immediate future for Broja at Stamford Bridge. That could all change now though, unfortunately for us.

He has been described as an ‘exceptional’ striker by The Athletic. Meanwhile, One Football label him as ‘lethal’. Broja seems to be ideally suited to West Ham and considering the way in which he stretches the opposition with tireless runs into the channels, it’s easy to see why Moyes wants to sign him.
The Chelsea owned ace is strong, quick and is a really, really good finisher. Broja bagged nine goals and one assist in 36 games for Southampton last term (Transfermarkt).
It is his all around game that has been the most impressive thing about him though. The way in which he holds up the ball with his back to goal and brings others into play has been truly magnificent to watch.
Whilst Broja embarks on his career, Ronaldo is in the twilight years of his.
The Portuguese star is allegedly unhappy that his wages have dropped to £360k-a-week at Old Trafford this season (Manchester Evening News).
It seems as though he’ll have to suffer it though…poor Ronaldo eh!
Armando Broja joining the Chelsea pre-season trip to America is undoubtedly a big blow for West Ham.
However, Chelsea reportedly deciding not to sign Ronaldo could be an even bigger problem for West Ham.
