West Ham United allegedly could snap up Adnan Januzaj on a free transfer this summer after his release from Real Sociedad.

That’s according to a report from Voetbal Krant who claim that the 27-year-old winger has just turned down a move to the Middle East and thus increasing the Hammers’ chances of signing him.

Signing a left-footed right winger will be one of the main priorities for David Moyes this summer.

And as a result, it would be no surprise to see the Scot try to sign his old favourite Januzaj.

Calcio Mercato claim that the 15-capped Belgium international is keen to the move to the London Stadium this summer as well.

And now it appears as though West Ham have a great chance to sign the free agent…

West Ham eye Adnan Januzaj swoop

Voetbal Krant reckon that the Hammers have a free run at the 27-year-old winger after he turned down a move to the Middle East.

We think that signing Januzaj on a free transfer would be a very smart move from West Ham.

Januzaj has been described as a brilliant player by Manchester United legend Paul Scholes (talkSPORT).

And on his day, he is extremely exciting to watch. The problem is that he is not very consistent. And his stats last season make for pretty grim reading, with just five goals and three assists to his name in 44 games (Transfermarkt).

The 27-year-old has never hit the heights that were expected of him when he burst onto the scene as a teenager a decade ago when David Moyes of all people gave him his debut for Manchester United.

Moyes also brought him to Sunderland on loan during his spell in charge at the Stadium of Light.

Januzaj is still a very decent player when he’s at his best. He can play anywhere along the front-line and possesses exceptional technical ability.

The Belgian’s availability on a free transfer and his apparent wage demands of around £95k-a-week (Estadio Deportivo) makes him the ideal replacement for Yarmolenko – and a much more cost effective one at that.

And if Adnan Januzaj does indeed join West Ham for absolutely nothing, we think that will be very good business for the East London outfit.
