Chelsea are reportedly eyeing up a last-minute dash to sign West Ham United target Sofyan Amrabat on deadline day.
That’s according to football journalist Edu Aguirre who told El Chiringuito that Chelsea are fighting to sign the 26-year-old midfielder before the January transfer window slams shut.

Now, that means that any feint hope that West Ham fans had of signing Amrabat before tonight’s 11pm deadline are all but over.

Hammers boss David Moyes allegedly wants to bring the Morocco international to the London Stadium.
It now seems as though the Scot will now have no chance…
Chelsea eyeing Sofyan Amrabat deadline day swoop
Edu Aguirre has told El Chiringuito that Blues boss Graham Potter is trying to bring the Fiorentina ace to Stamford Bridge.
Now, Chelsea signing Amrabat will obviously depend heavily on whether or not they manage to push through a deal to sign Enzo Fernandez.
Still though, it’s clear to see that West Ham should have moved sooner to sign the 26-year-old.
Amrabat will cost around €50 million (£44 million) according to a report from La Repubblica. talkSPORT have labelled him as an ‘elite’ player, and they’re not wrong.
After his performances for Morocco during the World Cup out in Qatar, that seems like an absolute snip.

The 26-year-old is a powerful central midfielder, with energy and stamina in abundance.
He possesses everything needed to be a big success in the Premier League, what with his physical robustness and tenacity in the challenge.
£44 million would be an absolute bargain for the Fiorentina ace in my opinion.
And if Chelsea sign Sofyan Amrabat on deadline day, it will be another major statement from the Blues.
