Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has broken his silence on West Ham United’s interest in signing Gianluca Scamacca.
Hammers boss David Moyes has been heavily linked with a move to sign Scamacca, 23, for quite some time now with Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition July 13th, page 16) claiming that we could actually blow PSG out the water in the race for his signature.

The Italy international would be a tremendous addition for West Ham this summer.
Scamacca has absolutely everything that David Moyes usually looks for in a centre-forward.
Hopefully the Scot manages to bring the Italian hitman to the London Stadium this summer. There have been suggestions that our interest in signing him is very much a ploy to flush out Chelsea regarding Armando Broja.

It seems as though our interest in the 23-year-old striker is very real though…
Sassuolo CEO opens up on West Ham Scamacca bid
The Serie A side’s CEO Giovanni Carnevali has insisted that the club don’t need to sell the 23-year-old striker this summer.
Carnevali did suggest that West Ham have offered more money for Scamacca than PSG have, as quoted by The Evening Standard:
“West Ham are offering €40m (£33 million) for Scamacca and Paris Saint-Germain offering €35m. There are also some add-ons as difference. We don’t need to sell, so we will see – there’s no agreement with any club now.”
It is alleged that Sassuolo could demand as much as £42 million for Scamacca, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition July 13th, page 16).
We think West Ham should just pay that, such is the Italian’s quality and potential.

The 23-year-old is an absolute unit. He stands at 6ft 5in tall but don’t let that fool you, he’s so much more than a bog-standard target man.
Sempre Inter recently described the towering striker as an ‘unbelievable’ player.
Scamacca possesses exceptional technique and has one of the most ferocious shots in the game at his disposal.
The 23-year-old bagged 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances for Sassuolo this season (Transfermarkt). He really is a very good all-round striker.
And the Italian should suit our playing style perfectly.
He has been described as a ‘world-class’ striker by scouting website Medium.
Hopefully the Italian will arrive at the London Stadium this summer.
And it remains to be seen whether West Ham make another bid for Scamacca this summer or focus our attention on Armando Broja instead.
