West Ham United are finally being linked with a sensationally exciting transfer in the January window.

As things stand, the names being linked with West Ham in the January transfer window have been underwhelming to say the least.

None more so than Andre Silva, with a recent report claiming that he’s set to join the Hammers on loan.

However, it seems as though the West Ham owners are determined to make a big statement signing as well.

Graham Potter needs more strength in depth in the centre-forward department at the London Stadium.

There are plenty of strikers out there who would take us to another level as a team, and who are available this month.

One man in particular is absolutely perfect for us, and it appears as though the Hammers are trying very hard to bring him to East London.

Potter cannot allow this window to pass without strengthening his centre-forward ranks.

However, the key will be for him to bring a game-changing signing in, not just another body per se.

And now it seems like the Hammers could be ready to make a serious splash in the transfer market.

According to a report from L’Equipe, West Ham are currently in talks to bring Nice striker Evann Guessand to the London Stadium.

Guessand has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham already this month.

What an incredibly exciting signing the Ivorian would be for the Hammers.

He has absolutely everything we currently lack in the centre-forward department.

I can promise you that the 23-year-old is absolutely perfect for Graham Potter’s system at the London Stadium.

Guessand is built like a pit-bull terrier and is incredibly strong. That obviously bodes well for his chances of succeeding the Premier League.

The young Ivory Coast international possesses rapid pace as well, and has blisteringly quick acceleration.

He’s just as comfortable when playing with his back to goal and holding the ball up as he is when running in behind the opposition’s defence.

The Nice star has bagged nine goals and five assists in 27 games so far this season (Transfermarkt).

He’s clearly not the most prolific but that record isn’t bad at all, and his game is about so much more than just goals anyway.

Evann Guessand would instantly transform the way West Ham play as a team, and getting a deal done for him should be Potter’s priority during the final week of the January window.
