A board confidant has named the star West Ham are most likely to sell to make way for a new signing and some fans will be furious.

We are now closing in on Friday’s summer transfer window deadline and West Ham continue to be linked with several players.

A striker is top of the agenda with Tim Steidten having held talks for Hugo Ekitike and Youssef En-Nesyri before heading to Brazil for talks over strikers Yuri Alberto and Pedro.

The Hammers are said to be targeting two more signings in addition to potentially handing Jesse Lingard a permanent deal.

Board confidant names star West Ham are most likely to sell to make way for new signing and some fans will be furious

Bringing in more than one non homegrown player raises a big issue for West Ham and manager David Moyes.

Because, with one non homegrown slot left in West Ham’s squad, bringing in two would see one current non homegrown player leave.

Now a board confidant has named the star West Ham are most likely to sell to make way for a new signing and some fans will be furious.

Sean Whetstone claims West Ham are trying to bring in ‘one or two more players’ before this Friday’s deadline.

And should more than one non homegrown transfer arrive, he says fan favourite Pablo Fornals is the most likely to be sold.

Cockney Carzola is much-loved at West Ham but could he say goodbye?

“West Ham are trying to bring in one or two more players before Friday 11pm but only have one non home grown squad position remaining,” Whetstone said.

“Should they land a second non home grown player then one existing non home grown player would be sold. The most likely candidate for that is Pablo Fornals.”

The Cockney Carzola is much loved among West Ham fans.

His workrate, passion and enthusiasm – as well as his quality on the ball and in the pass – has been fundamental for West Ham under David Moyes.

But reports from Spain did claim recently he wants to return to La Liga amid links to Sevilla and Real Betis.

Fornals is in the last year of his West Ham contract.

Moyes recently admitted that while the midfielder sometimes frustrates him, he brings something to the team others don’t.
