Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign West Ham United transfer target Jeremie Frimpong in January.

That’s according to Give Me Sport who claims that Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has ‘an in’ as the race for the for the £26 million-rated right-back heats up.

That his obviously a big blow for West Ham and David Moyes. The Scot is allegedly keen to bring the 22-year-old defender to the London Stadium this winter.

It now seems as though there is a good chance that he could be Old Trafford bound though.

Right-back is an area where Moyes desperately needs to strengthen this winter, so Man United winning the race for Frimpong would undoubtedly be a big blow for the Scot…

Give Me Sport are claiming that the fact that Erik ten Hag is Dutch, he has the advantage in the race to sign the 22-year-old Bayer Leverkusen ace.

What a shame eh.

Frimpong is exactly the kind of player Moyes needs to add to his ranks at the London Stadium.

The young Dutchman would be a massive upgrade on Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson, that’s for sure.

In 15 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen so far this season, Frimpong has bagged five goals and two assists – unbelievable numbers for a right-back (Who Scored).

During those outings, he has averaged 1.7 tackles and one clearance per game (Who Scored).

The ex-Manchester City and Celtic ace really does seem to be the real deal. In fact, Celtic fan site 67 Hail Hail once described Frimpong as ‘unplayable’.

Frimpong is absolutely rapid and has an explosive playing style that seems to be tailor made for the Premier League.

Leverkusen could demand around €30 million (£26 million) for Frimpong (Buli News). That sounds like great value for whichever club wins the race for his signature.

Unfortunately for West Ham though, it seems as though Manchester United are in prime position to sign Jeremie Frimpong in January.
