West Ham have been dealt a blow with the news that Manchester United could try to sign David Moyes target Vitor Roque.

Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport reckon that Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a move to sign the £52 million Brazilian sensation.

It now seems as though the Hammers could face fierce competition from Manchester United and PSG though.

And if the South American youngster has the choice between the Hammers, the Red Devils and the Ligue 1 giants, it’s clear to see that we will be at a massive disadvantage…

West Ham face Manchester United competition for Vitor Roque

Gazzetta dello Sport reckon that Man United are eyeing up a move to sign the Brazilian whizz-kid.

Foot The Ball describe Roque as an ‘incredible’ young talent. He is a truly stunning young player with an incredibly high ceiling.

So the report claiming that Man United are now interested in signing him is an obvious blow for the Hammers.

He can play either as a winger or as a striker, and he has already bagged 13 goals and four assists in 52 senior appearances for Athletico Paranaense (Transfermarkt).

Roque possesses a really impressive turn of pace and has exceptional technical ability – as you would expect for a Brazilian attacker.

He is obviously still very young, so spending so much money on him will not come without risk. And Man United are obviously better placed than us financially to take a punt on the Brazilian.

Having said that, I truly believe that he will be worth double that £52 million release clause in a few year’s time. He is a frightening young talent and has everything needed to go on and become a superstar in the game.

I would absolutely love him at the London Stadium, and the 17-year-old joining the Hammers would be a sign that Moyes is in fact determined to deliver the Red Bull model that he has promised the fans.

Unfortunately for West Ham though, Manchester United are apparently interested in signing Vitor Roque. And that could mean game over for the East London outfit.
