West Ham United could cause a big problem for Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

Julen Lopetegui is keen to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium this summer, and the West Ham head coach is targeting numerous new additions in different positions.

The Hammers head coach is prioritising the additions of a striker and another centre-back, but he needs to bring in a central midfielder and a right-back as well.

Both full-back positions have been ignored for far too long at West Ham as far as I’m concerned.

Vladimir Coufal has been a solid and dependable member of the Hammers squad, but he’s well past his best now.

The 31-year-old has regressed badly over the past year or so, and a big upgrade is required upon him now.

Lopetegui seemingly agrees with that notion, and is said to be lining up the signing of a really talented full-back in the summer transfer window.

If the West Ham chief manages to sign him, it will be a very big blow to Newcastle United…

Newcastle blow with West Ham trying to seal Marc Pubill deal

According to a report from AS Roma Live, West Ham are eyeing a move to sign Newcastle target Marc Pubill this summer.

And the Hammers allegedly want to get a deal for the Spaniard wrapped up ‘quickly’.

The 21-year-old Almeria ace is a real talent, and possesses all of the attributes needed to make it at the highest possible level.

Pubill is incredibly quick, plays with a certain kind of maturity that defies his tender years and is a tenacious tackler to boot.

He is a very good decision maker, possesses exceptional technique, as you would expect for a Spaniard, and has great athleticism.

Marc Pubill could be available for around £8.4 million this summer (Yahoo) – decent value for West Ham in this day and age.

However, with Newcastle, and Roma for what it’s worth, in the hunt to sign the young Spaniard, it remains to be seen as to whether or not the Hammers manage to bring him to the London Stadium this summer.
