A big claim has been made about a deal between West Ham and Leeds for star Wilfried Gnonto in the January transfer window.
It’s difficult for fans to know what – and more importantly who – to believe when it comes to football transfer rumours.
There are plenty of sources of information for West Ham and Leeds United – Hammers News being one of many.
With that inevitably comes conflicting information – especially during the frantic January transfer window period as West Ham and Leeds are linked with all and sundry.

Big claim about deal between West Ham and Leeds for Gnonto
Those who have been following the rumour mill will have seen West Ham and Leeds have been sharing some column inches over the last week or so.
The Hammers are said to be on the hunt for a new forward – specifically one who can play off the left.
We reported on Hammers News that two journalists – one of whom is the top source for Leeds news – have claimed David Moyes is interested in Wilfried Gnonto while Ben Johnson is a target for the Elland Road outfit.
The Hammers were heavily linked with Leeds ace Gnonto – who can play across the front three positions – in the summer window too.
But now a big claim has been made about a deal between West Ham and Leeds for star Gnonto.

Italian NOT a target says journalist
And Leeds fans will be buzzing.
Because Mirror reporter Ryan Taylor has emphatically stated that Gnonto IS NOT a target for the Hammers in the January window.
“West Ham are still prioritising attacking reinforcements,” Taylor reports.
“But they do not hold an interest in Leeds forward Wilfried Gnonto, contrary to reports.”
Leeds United will undoubtedly be relieved as they chase promotion back to the Premier League.
West Ham must – if Taylor’s claim is accurate – be focusing elsewhere with targets including Jack Clarke, Steven Bergwijn, Ibrahim Osman, Jonathan Rowe and Antonio Nusa.
Meanwhile The Athletic reports Leeds target Johnson will hold a third round of contract talks with West Ham as his deal nears expiration in the summer.
