Big boost for West Ham but a blow for Tottenham in race to sign 24-yo England international this summer

West Ham United have been handed a big boost in the race to sign Chelsea star Conor Gallagher, whilst it’s not such good news for Tottenham.

Tottenham are believed to be battling West Ham for the signature of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old is someone who we’ve been heavily linked with signing before, with Hammers boss David Moyes believed to be a big fan of the Chelsea man.

And now it seems like we could have a very good chance to bring him to the London Stadium in the summer.

That’s because the Daily Mail are reporting that Chelsea would much rather sell Gallagher to West Ham rather than Tottenham…

West Ham handed summer transfer window boost

If Chelsea really would prefer to sell the England international midfielder to the Hammers rather than Spurs, then Moyes should be going all out to bring him to East London.

Gallagher would be a tremendous addition to the Scot’s ranks at the London Stadium.

Frank Lampard once described the 23-year-old as an ‘amazing’ talent (Daily Mail), and he’s spot on.

Gallagher has been superb for Chelsea this season – one of only a couple of Blues players to have emerged from the first few months of the campaign with any kind of credit whatsoever.

The 24-year-old is highly energetic, possesses superb technical ability and can play in a variety of different positions.

If West Ham are going to make a big splash in the summer transfer window, I would love it if Conor Gallagher was the statement signing we made.

The Chelsea star would be ideal for us, and the fact that Tottenham may have a tough time signing him should open the door for the Hammers.
