West Ham United allegedly could now face competition from Liverpool for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.

That’s according to a report from Calcio Mercato who claim that both the Hammers and Liverpool are tracking the 24-year-old midfield powerhouse ahead of the January transfer window.

Both David Moyes and Jurgen Klopp are in need of more power, energy and dynamism in their respective central midfield ranks.

West Ham may find it hard to sign Sangare now though, with Liverpool apparently sniffing around.

To say Moyes will have his work cut-out if he is to bring the PSV ace to the London Stadium is an understatement…

West Ham face Liverpool competition for Ibrahim Sangare

Both Calciomercato and The Daily Mail recently claimed that Moyes wants to bring the PSV star to East London.

But now Calcio Mercato suggest that Liverpool have entered the race for the Ivorian’s signature.

So the Hammers’ hopes of signing him have taken a real hit.

What a player the PSV Eindhoven ace is.

Smarter Scout describe the midfielder as a ‘special player’.

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, Sangare is an absolute unit of a man, and he possesses energy and athleticism in abundance.

He’s a defensive midfielder by trade, but has recently evolved into more of a box-to-box player.

The 24-year-old bagged four goals and two assists for PSV Eindhoven last season.

During 29 outings for PSV last term, Sangare averaged 3.3 tackles and 2.6 interceptions per game. He made 70 passes on average per match and recorded an impressive completion rate of 86.1% (Who Scored).

The Ivorian will undoubtedly be a huge hit in the Premier League, if he does indeed compete a move to England either in January or next summer.

And West Ham will find it very hard to beat Liverpool to the signing of Ibrahim Sangare.

The Reds’ have far greater spending power than us and they will most probably have Champions League football on offer at Anfield as well.

Missing out on Sangare will be a huge blow for West Ham. He would be a tremendous addition for the club. With Liverpool now keen on the Ivory Coat international though, Moyes may well have to look elsewhere.
