A BBC journalist claims West Ham are getting busy in the transfer market as David Moyes is deadly serious about kicking on.

West Ham fans are in expectant mood this summer window with the club at a real crossroads.

The Hammers faithful want to see two years of meteoric progress under rewarded with financial backing in the transfer market.

But it’s not just the supporters, Moyes is expectant too.

Having vowed to ‘go bigger’ in the summer after being unable to sign any of the players he wanted in January, the Scot has already spent £30m on defender Nayef Aguerd.

And West Ham’s spending is expected to reach around £40m when the deal to make goalkeeper Alphonse Areola’s loan move from PSG permanent is announced imminently.

That is just the start according to a well informed BBC Sport journalist.

Simon Stone is right across the biggest football stories for the BBC. And he has heard West Ham mean business, quite literally, in this window.

The BBC journalist claims West Ham are getting busy as Moyes is deadly serious about kicking on.

And Stone hinted Jesse Lingard could be the next in line to arrive once the Areola deal is announced.

“Sounds like it is going to be a busy few weeks at West Ham,” Stone said on Twitter.

“Non-internationals flying to Scotland this morning for a training camp at St Andrews.

“Alphonse Areola deal will go through today or tomorrow.

“Jesse Lingard offer in and club waiting for response.

“David Moyes keen to push on.”

Stone’s claims tally with reports elsewhere that West Ham will be one of the biggest players in this summer’s window.

With so many players having left West Ham that is hardly surprising.

And retired captain Mark Noble did send a clear message to the owners in his last ever press conference when he declared Moyes was already operating THREE players short before the departures.

Other reports have also claimed Moyes will be busy in the coming weeks with the deals for Areola and Lingard discussed as well as several others.

Let’s hope Aguerd and Areola really are just the start of an outstanding summer window.
